Aurora is a very calculating woman. She does not bother thinking about what she likes and dislikes, rather she focuses on what she can do to reach her goals. Each thing she does is a step towards an end result and she never does anything without fully thinking it through. Her ambitions are limited only to herself. Aurora has no feelings or opinions about the world at large. She is a very selfish woman and will not apologize for that. She wants her own life to follow a certain path. That path includes financial security, enough lovers to keep her amused and, eventually, being free from Hogwarts.
Her seduction of students is not some deep desire to be worshiped or love. Aurora carefully chooses the young men she befriends. She does, in her own way, develop feelings for them, but generally she uses them for some purpose or another.

Born to Cassiopeia Sinistra on April 15, 1966, Aurora’s life started poorly. Her father was a wealthy Pureblood who often took mistresses rather than bed his own wife. When Cassiopeia (a Halfblood witch) became pregnant, her father washed his hands of the situation and never spoke to his mistress again. Pregnant and alone, Cassiopeia began working as a waitress in a rather unsavoury pub in Knockturn Alley. It was in Knockturn that Aurora was born and where she spent her youth. While other children visited Diagon Alley and ventured into Knockturn on dares, Aurora learned the corners and nooks like the palm of her hand. There was never much money to be had in the Sinistra home. Aurora often longed for the pretty clothing other little girls had only to be reminded that they couldn’t afford it.
Hogwarts was another world to Aurora. She never had to worry about getting enough food. Though her robes and personal belongings were often secondhand, she found a home within the dungeons. Having a thick skin from her youth, the taunts of her more wealthy classmates didn’t bother her. During her seven years at the school, Aurora became quite popular… with the wrong sort of people.
In a world where names and influence were everything, Aurora found it rather hard to find a decent job out of Hogwarts. She worked in the Ministry for a bit, but seeing her father every day became too much to stomach and she quit. The next few years were spent working odd jobs and not making much money. Being poor was something Aurora hated above anything else. When a position at Hogwarts opened, Aurora applied, hoping that her scores were enough to get her into the door. They were and in 1990 she became the Astronomy Professor.
It didn’t take her long to realize just how much she hated students. They were mostly idiots and after two years she had grown to loath each and every one of them. However, something very exciting began to happen in the world. Death Eaters were coming to power. Drawn by their presence and power over others, Aurora began corresponding with a few of them. Eventually she began to write to none other than Rodolphus Lestrange. She would, from time to time, pass along the name of a young man she felt would be a wonderful addition to his cause in exchange for protection from all things that went bump in the night.
Hogwarts certainly became more interesting after that. In order to get to know her students better, Aurora started having affairs with a few young men. It gave her a thrill and soon she learned how useful it could be.
